«Tränen gelacht: Steckbrief eines Steinbocks» is the autobiography of Rudolf Hagelstange, published by List in hardback (255 pages, in German).
The author reviews his life and literary career in these memoirs, which include the period of the Third Reich and are written with a mixture of irony and emotion. The subtitle, 'Steckbrief eines Steinbocks' ('portrait of a mountain goat'), reinforces the book's self-portrait character.
Edition published in 1977. Includes bibliography (pages 250-255) and plates outside the text.
For readers of memoirs and twentieth-century German literature.
