«There's a House Inside My Mummy» is the children's picture book by Giles Andreae, published by Hachette Children's Group in hardback (26 pages, in English).
A little boy narrates the wait for a baby brother: he imagines the baby lives in a house inside his mummy's tummy, watches her belly grow, and notices its movements. The story follows his questions about that house and the things his mummy does to feed the baby while the time to meet him approaches.
The text is by Giles Andreae and the illustrations are by Vanessa Cabban. The work was originally published in 2001 and this edition appeared in 2012.
For young children expecting a baby brother and for families looking for a read to talk about pregnancy and the arrival of a baby.
Giles Andreae is a British writer and illustrator. He is the creator of the stickman poet Purple Ronnie and the humorous artist/philosopher Edward Monkton, and is the author of Giraffes Can't Dance and many other books for children.
