«The Reluctant Dragon» is the children's story by Katie Daynes and Kenneth Grahame, published by Usborne in paperback (48 pages, in English).
The protagonist of this story is a dragon who prefers flowers to fighting, something unusual in a world of knights. When the most famous dragon fighter arrives in the area, the confrontation seems inevitable. With humour and absurd situations, the tale shows how the encounter between the dragon and the knight may not end as traditional stories dictate.
The book's illustrations are by Fred Blunt. It is part of the Usborne First Reading series, level 4; the edition was published on 24 April 2009.
For early readers aged 4 to 6, especially if they enjoy dragon stories and humour.
