«Old Boot» is a children's book about ecology by Chris Baines, published in English in 1989.
When someone discards an old boot, over time it becomes the home of a varied group of creatures. The story shows how human intervention transforms the environment, even unintentionally, and how plants and animals react to those changes. A first introduction to ecology for early readers.
The story is part of an accessible series of ecology books for young readers and features illustrations by Penny Ives.
Intended for young children beginning to discover their natural environment, with a simple and educational approach.
