«The Night Before Christmas» is the children's Christmas poem by Clement Clarke Moore, published by Scholastic in paperback (in English).
The poem recreates Christmas Eve: while the house sleeps, a noise on the roof announces the arrival of Saint Nicholas, who appears on his sleigh with the reindeer to leave the presents. Jan Brett's illustrations set the scene in a snowy New England village and add two stowaway elves from the North Pole.
