In 'The Leftovers', Tom Perrotta presents us with a world where millions of people have suddenly disappeared, without any explanation. The novel explores how those who remain deal with this massive loss, seeking answers in science, religion, or fanatical sects. Kevin Garvey, the protagonist, struggles to maintain an appearance of normality as his family disintegrates around him. A disturbing and emotional story about faith, fanaticism, and the human reaction to the inexplicable.

Thomas R. Perrotta is an American novelist and screenwriter best known for his novels Election (1998) and Little Children (2004), both of which were made into Academy Award-nominated films.
