«The Atomised Individual, the Social Individual, and the Covid Vaccine» is the political essay by Ralph E. Gonsalves in paperback (60 pages).
The book confronts two ways of understanding the individual: the atomised one, who puts their particular interests before the common good, and the social one, who relies on collective solidarity and the public interest. With this key it analyses resistance to the COVID-19 vaccine and the tensions around the pandemic, offering a critical reading of individualism and liberalism in contemporary politics.
Published in December 2021 by Independently published. Ralph E. Gonsalves, the author, is Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Work aimed at readers interested in the political and social analysis of the pandemic, individualism and citizenship.
