The book reviews the history of Rome from the perspective of the peoples it considered barbarians: organised, motivated and intelligent groups, with no intention of overthrowing the Empire. It spans seven hundred years and three continents to show the cultural and technological achievements of Celts, Goths, Persians and Vandals, and questions Roman propaganda.
Published in 2007, with the subtitle «An Alternative Roman History»; category: History.
Suitable for fans of Roman history and historical popularisation seeking a critical and entertaining read.
