In a world where some individuals have acquired superpowers as a result of a catastrophic event, these beings, known as Epics, have subjugated humanity. Steelheart, a tyrannical Epic, has proclaimed himself ruler of Chicago Nova, and is rumored to be invincible. However, an underground group called the Reckoners, led by young David Charleston, plans to avenge his father's death at the hands of Steelheart. David possesses crucial knowledge: he is the only one who has seen Steelheart bleed, which could be the key to defeating him. This is the first installment of the Reckoners trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.
