«Spe Salvi: Sobre la esperanza cristiana» is the encyclical letter of Benedict XVI, published by Ediciones Palabra in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
Second encyclical of Benedict XVI, it delves into hope as a theological virtue: not generic optimism, but trust in God's action and his love. It relates it to prayer, divine closeness and the strength to face suffering, and roots it in the cross of Jesus.
Belongs to the Documentos MC collection; this edition is the 3rd, published by Ediciones Palabra on 30 November 2007.
Work suitable for readers interested in the magisterium of Benedict XVI and in the theology of Christian hope.
Pope Benedict XVI was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City from 2005 until his resignation in 2013. Following his resignation, he chose to be known as "pope emeritus", a title he held until his death on 31 December 2022.
