«Sobre la fotografía» is Susan Sontag's essay on photographic criticism, published by Debolsillo in paperback (208 pages, in Spanish).
In this essay, originally published in 1973, Susan Sontag renewed photographic criticism by raising moral and aesthetic questions about the medium. She analyses how photographs impact, idealise or seduce, and how their omnipresence conditions our way of seeing the world and constructing notions of reality and authority.
Edition from the Contemporánea collection with a translation by Carlos Gardini. The original essay, 'On Photography', won the National Book Critics Circle Award in 1977.
Aimed at readers interested in photography, art, philosophy and cultural criticism, as well as students and image professionals.
