«Sırça Köşk» is the short story collection by Sabahattin Ali, published by Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları in paperback (172 pages, in Turkish).
It brings together stories that Sabahattin Ali wrote between 1944 and 1947, a very difficult personal period that also left its mark on these texts: there are pieces with an autobiographical and biographical air, such as those evoking his time in Sinop prison or the police interrogation of the writer Rıfat Ilgaz. Fiction and real experiences intermingle.
Originally published in 1947; this edition is no. 35 in the Türk Edebiyatı Klasikleri series.
For readers of classic Turkish literature and short stories with an autobiographical background.
Sabahattin Ali was a Turkish novelist, short-story writer, poet, and journalist.
