«Silber - Das erste Buch der Träume» is Kerstin Gier's young adult fantasy novel, published by Fischer FJB in hardback (408 pages, in German).
Fifteen-year-old Liv Silver moves to London hoping for a normal life, but her dreams fill with talking statues, strange corridors, and a cemetery ritual with four boys from her new school. When she wakes, those boys know things she has only said while sleeping, and the mystery crosses the border between dream and reality.
It is the first instalment of the Silber trilogy. This German edition was published on 20 June 2013. In 2014 it was recognised with the Kalbacher Klapperschlange award.
Aimed at young readers from around 12 years old, it will appeal to those seeking urban fantasy, mystery and romance set in a school environment.
Kerstin Gier is a German author of novels for adults and young adults. Her popular young adult novel Rubinrot and its two sequels – a series about time travel – as well as her Silber trilogy were translated into English by Anthea Bell.
