«Siete ratones ciegos» is the picture book by Ed Young, published by Ediciones Ekaré in paperback (40 pages, in Spanish).
Seven blind mice go out one by one to investigate what the Very Strange Thing by the pond is. Each touches a different part and returns with a different conclusion: a pillar, a fan, a spear. Only at the end, by observing the whole, do they discover it is an elephant. An Eastern fable that invites looking beyond appearances.
Inspired by the Indian fable of the blind men and the elephant. Ed Young was awarded the Caldecott Medal. Originally published in 1992 as Seven Blind Mice.
Recommended for early readers and for reading aloud, from about 3 years old, according to the reading guide.

Ed Tse-chun Young was a Chinese-born American illustrator and writer of children's picture books and tai chi instructor. He has received many awards and recognitions, including the Caldecott Medal and Lifetime Achievement awards for his contributions as a children's illustrator.
