«Siete contra Tebas» is the Greek tragedy by Aeschylus, published by Ediciones Clásicas in paperback (86 pages, in Spanish).
Performed in 467 BC, the play depicts the siege of Thebes by the army of Argos: seven captains attack the seven gates of the city while Eteocles, son of Oedipus, defends it and his brother Polynices fights among the besiegers. The chorus narrates the misfortune looming over the city and the fratricidal dispute for the throne.
This edition includes the translation by Enrique Díez-Canedo and Concha Rodríguez, with a version by Jesús Alviz.
A volume for readers interested in classical theatre, ancient literature and Greek mythology.

Aeschylus was an ancient Greek tragedian, often described as the father of tragedy. Academic knowledge of the genre begins with his work, and understanding of earlier Greek tragedy is largely based on inferences made from reading his surviving plays. According to Aristotle, he expanded the number of characters in the theatre and allowed conflict among them. Formerly, characters interacted only with the chorus.
