«Scoop» is Evelyn Waugh's satirical novel, published by Penguin Classics in paperback (224 pages, in English).
Press magnate Lord Copper believes he has found the ideal reporter and sends him to cover a war in the African republic of Ishmaelia, but the chosen one is actually a novice correspondent. Waugh turns the mistake into a corrosive satire on journalism, its haste and its sensationalism.
The novel was originally published in 1938; this Penguin Classics edition dates from 2003.
For readers of British satire and novels about the world of journalism.
