«Schwarzkittel» is the crime novel by Harald Schneider set in the Palatinate, published by Gmeiner Verlag in paperback (278 pages, in German).
Inspector Reiner Palzki investigates the discovery of paediatrician Dr. Dipper, hanged at Hassloch racecourse with the sign «Apostó al caballo equivocado». A doctor from the children's clinic in Ludwigshafen then dies, and Palzki connects the cases: several patients have died from pseudocroup, a possible hospital scandal.
Second instalment in the Inspector Reiner Palzki series, subtitled «Palzkis zweiter Fall. Ein Pfalz-Krimi»; originally published in 2009.
For readers of German crime fiction and followers of regional mystery series.
