«San Juan de la Cruz para niños» is the children's adaptation of the life and work of San Juan de la Cruz, published by De La Torre in paperback.
It traces the life of San Juan de la Cruz and brings his mystical poetry closer to younger readers, also explaining his religious legacy. The narrative, designed for a children's audience, combines simple language with colour illustrations that recreate the era and the figure of the mystical poet.
The edition was prepared by José M.ª Muñoz and M.ª Victoria Revzábal and illustrated by Marina Seoane; it was published in 1998 with 156 pages in Spanish.
It is intended for children and young readers approaching mystical poetry and the figure of San Juan de la Cruz for the first time.
John of the Cross was a Spanish Catholic priest, mystic, and Carmelite friar. He is a major figure of the Counter-Reformation in Spain, and he is one of the 38 Doctors of the Church.
