«Rosie's Babies» is a children's picture book by Martin Waddell, published by Walker Books Ltd in paperback (32 pages, in English).
Rosie is a little girl who looks after her two babies, a toy rabbit and a rag teddy bear, while her mother tends to the family's new baby. To her, these toys are completely real: they drive cars, enjoy swings, travel in rockets and adore dinosaurs, though they detest custard.
The illustrations are by Penny Dale and the book was published in 1992.
Aimed at children aged 2 to 6, for reading aloud or sharing as a family, and especially suitable when a new baby arrives at home.
Martin Waddell is a writer of children's books from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He may be known best for his picture book texts featuring anthropomorphic animals, especially the Little Bear series illustrated by Barbara Firth.
