«Roque Six» is the humour novel by José López Rubio, published in 1999 by Temas de Hoy in hardback (255 pages, in Spanish).
A mediocre man dies and reincarnates again and again with full awareness, though none of his lives ends well. As he cannot access heaven while a sublime feat remains pending, incarnations follow as varied as a French official, a Protestant pastor, a baby, twins, or a prisoner.
This edition is part of the Clásicos del Humor collection, of which it is number 8, and was published in Madrid in 1999.
It will interest readers with a taste for absurd and ironic humour and those who want to discover the other generation of '27.
José López Rubio y Herreros was a Spanish playwright, screenwriter, film director, theatre historian, and humorist.
