«Retornamos como sombras» is the novel by Paco Ignacio Taibo II, published by Destino in paperback (514 pages, in Spanish).
Locked in a mental asylum, a man recounts in his own way the history of Mexico in the 1940s: Nazi conspiracies in Chiapas, secret agents, submarines off the coast, and a lost Hemingway in Mexico City. A chaotic novel mixing intrigue, history, and adventure with delirious humor.
Published in 2001 in the Áncora y Delfín collection by Destino, with cover illustration by Vicen Ramírez.
For readers of crime and historical fiction who enjoy chaotic plots, humor, and nods to real figures like Hemingway.
