«Rapids» is the adventure novel by Tim Parks, published by Secker in hardback (245 pages, in English).
In the Italian Alps, a group of English canoeists, six adults and nine teenagers, arrives at a whitewater course. Clive, Michela and Vince, a banker travelling with his daughter, are part of the group. The current brings out virtues and flaws, provokes conflicts and unexpected alliances, and the thaw makes the last day dangerous.
