«Quartered Safe Out Here» is George MacDonald Fraser's war memoir of the Burma campaign, published by Skyhorse (264 pages, in English).
First-person account by George MacDonald Fraser of his service as a soldier in the Burma campaign during World War II. Fraser reconstructs the harshness of jungle warfare, the fear, fatigue, and camaraderie among British soldiers, with a raw and unidealized view of the Asian front.
The cover includes the subtitle «A Harrowing Tale of World War II» and a quote in which John Keegan calls it one of the great memoirs of World War II.
For those interested in the military history of World War II and in the accounts of British soldiers on the Burma front.
