«Quand tu écouteras cette chanson» is the novel by Lola Lafon, published by Le Livre de Poche in 2023, in French.
In 1984, during the height of the AIDS epidemic, sixteen-year-old Suzanne runs away from home and turns to prostitution; one night she disappears. Thirty years later, Gabrielle becomes obsessed with the young woman's unsolved case; her investigation unearths secrets and silenced pain, in a novel about memory, transmission, and female strength.
The work won the Grand Prix des Lectrices Elle. The cover indicates it is the book that gave rise to a documentary broadcast on france.tv.
Lola Lafon is a French writer and musician.
