«Project Elephant» is Susan Ring's children's nonfiction book, published by Weigl Pub Inc in hardback (24 pages, in English).
The book follows the development of an African elephant calf at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium: it describes the keepers' work, the animal's natural habitat, its diet and life cycle, and contrasts it with life in the wild. It includes fun facts, folk tales, and links to conservation organizations.
It belongs to the Zoo Life series, dedicated to the lives of animals born in American zoos and their comparison with the wild.
For young readers curious about animals, especially elephants, and about how they live in zoos versus the wild.
