In the port, the fishermen cannot go out to fish due to a persistent storm. Old Tom and his cat make the decision to venture out to sea, facing the great storm cat to end the famine that plagues the community. Nicola Bayley's illustrations perfectly complement this simple story, narrated in an evocative style.
