The book gathers stories of fear, magic and treasures from Lluçanès and other regions of inland Catalonia as a testimony to a rural world on the verge of disappearing. Its tales bring together peasants, tenant farmers, shepherds and parish priests with souls, demons, witches and water women, ancestral beliefs and fears that the author received firsthand.
Volume 13 of the Popular Llegendes collection, in Catalan and with 22 illustrations; first edition published in 2003.
For readers interested in the folklore, legends and ethnography of rural Catalonia.
