«Poesía trunca» is the anthology of revolutionary Latin American poetry by Mario Benedetti (Visor Libros, paperback, 552 pages, in Spanish).
Anthology of twenty-eight Latin American poets who died for the revolutionary cause, almost all young. Some fell in combat or on insurrectional missions; others were tortured, imprisoned, or disappeared. More than revolutionaries who wrote verse, they were poets committed to the struggle.
It belongs to the Visor Poetry Collection. The selection and preface are by Mario Benedetti; the work originally appeared in 1977.
For readers of Latin American poetry, especially those interested in committed lyric and the memory of poets fallen in the revolutionary struggle.
