«(Pijn)³» is the crime novel by Pieter Aspe, published by Manteau in paperback (320 pages, in Dutch).
In Bruges, Commissioner Van In and his assistant Versavel receive a video: a hostage named Jan Van In, a namesake with no relation, asks to be found within a week or he will be skinned. A second message threatens another hostage named Versavel. The press amplifies the case while the psychopath keeps the country on edge; the pain reaches the third power.
It belongs to the Commissioner Van In series and was published in 2014 within the Meesters in Misdaad collection.
For readers of crime fiction and police thrillers, especially those who follow Commissioner Van In's investigations.
