«Pereza» is the graphic novel by Gilbert Hernandez, published by Planeta DeAgostini Cómics in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Miguel Serra, a teenager who wakes from a year-long coma, acts with disconcerting slowness and passivity. Along with his girlfriend Lita and his friend Romeo, he roams the suburbs, where an enchanted lemon grove, a mysterious goat-man, and a murder end up intertwining. Surreal black-and-white atmosphere, with echoes of David Lynch.
Pereza was published in 2007 within the Otros Vértigo line and is the Spanish edition of Sloth (2006). Gilbert Hernandez is co-creator of Love and Rockets.
Aimed at a young and adult audience following independent graphic novels and surreal fantasy stories.
