«Pensión Leonardo» is Rosa Ribas's coming-of-age novel, published by Siruela in hardback (352 pages, in Spanish).
Lali, a twelve-year-old girl, grows up in the Barcelona neighbourhood of Poble Sec in the 1960s, among the guests of the family boarding house. The arrival of a stranger disrupts the routine of the modest establishment and pushes the protagonist to confront her mother's silences and the secrets surrounding her family.
The work corresponds to volume 310 of Siruela's Nuevos Tiempos collection; it is the second edition, published in 2015.
For readers of contemporary fiction seeking coming-of-age stories and period portraits.
