«Para Uma Voz Só» is Susanna Tamaro's collection of short stories, published by Editorial Presença in paperback (160 pages, in Portuguese).
The stories traverse solitary childhoods and helpless figures; the malaise of the era emerges in diaries and conversations. With prose that combines naturalness and poetic sense, the author descends into the most intimate zones of consciousness and shows its fragility before a hostile world.
Portuguese translation published in 2004. The original work, «Per voce sola», appeared in 1991 and won the PEN Club Italia Prize and the Rapallo Prize.
