«Pablo de La Courneuve» is the children's and young adult novel by Cécile Roumiguière, published by Seuil in paperback (91 pages, in French).
Pablo, twelve years old, flees Colombia with his family and arrives in La Courneuve. His parents live undocumented; he wanders through a grey city, very different from the sunny Santa María del Cauca. Between encounters with a disturbing neighbour, the girl Nina and a town hall employee, Pablo will end up feeling that the sun can also shine there.
Originally published in 2008, it belongs to the Chapitre collection from Seuil Jeunesse.
Novel for children and young adult readers, close to themes of immigration, integration and friendship.
