«Ouvrière» is the biographical account of Franck Magloire, published by Editions de l'Aube in paperback (166 pages, in French).
The author reconstructs the life of his mother, Nicole, who worked for thirty years in a Moulinex factory to offer her children a dignified life. The narrative follows her routine in the industrial zone of L'Espérance, her identity as a worker, and the link between her fate and the factory's closure, in a sober testimony to working-class dignity.
Originally published in 2004, it is part of the L'Aube Poche collection and received the literary prize of the city of Caen.
For readers interested in testimonies about the working class, the sociology of work, and industrial memory.
