«Ondarroako piratak» is the children's and young adult novel by Ana Urkiza, published by Editorial Ibaizabal in paperback (176 pages, in Basque).
Andoni thinks he'll be bored in Ondarroa, but the town holds unexpected adventures for him: he meets flesh-and-blood pirates, nothing like those in films, and becomes friends with them. With his new gang he organizes a circus, steals apples, flees from ghosts and sets sail for the first time, until he becomes the favourite of the pirate Kutxi.
Volume 11 of the Gaztetxo! Bilduma collection. It features illustrations by Jokin Mitxelena.
Aimed at readers aged 10 to 12 looking for children's adventures in Basque.
