In 'Olas sobre una roca desierta', the young Oliveri, the author Terenci Moix's alter ego, decides to flee from his past and a predictable future after receiving an inheritance. This escape takes him on a journey through Europe, from where he sends letters to an imaginary recipient, exposing the reasons for his departure and describing the environment around him. The novel explores themes of identity, escape, and the search for oneself through doubt and pleasure.
Terenci Moix was a Spanish writer, who wrote in the Spanish and in Catalan languages. He was the brother of poet/novelist Ana Maria Moix.
