«O Senhor Walser» is a short work of fiction by Portuguese writer Gonçalo M. Tavares, published by Caminho in hardback (38 pages, in Portuguese).
Mr Walser builds his new house in the middle of the forest and waits for company; when the doorbell finally rings, the narrative turns solitude into an encounter. Tavares develops the story with a poetic and philosophical tone, in a short piece that plays with words and ideas.
It is the seventh instalment of Gonçalo M. Tavares' series 'O Bairro', originally published in 2006, and includes drawings by Rachel Caiano.
For readers of contemporary Portuguese fiction and short stories with a philosophical undertone.
