«O Banquete (O Simpósio ou do Amor)» is Plato's philosophical dialogue, published by Guimarães Editores in paperback (140 pages, in Portuguese).
The dialogue reproduces the speeches of several guests, including Socrates, who discourse on Eros and on love in its many facets, from the carnal to the spiritual, in a tone that combines rhetoric, myth and philosophy.
Published in 1998, with revised translation, preface and notes by Pinharanda Gomes. Part of the Filosofia & Ensaios collection.
For readers of classical philosophy and Platonic thought on love.
