«Nolo e os ladróns de leña» is a children's novel by Fina Casalderrey with illustrations by Teresa Novoa (Ediciones SM, paperback, 64 pages, in Galician).
The protagonist is an elderly man who no longer remembers how old he is; he is sturdy and blushes strikingly when climbing the park stairs, his face the colour of strawberry jam. The village children consider him almost their grandfather, and that affection wraps him in a mystery about stolen firewood.
Volume 15 of the El Barco de Vapor Blanca collection. The edition was published in 2004.
For boys and girls aged 6 to 10: a heartwarming story about the closeness between an old man and the children of his village.
Fina Casalderrey is a Spanish writer and educator, considered to be one of the most important writers of Galician children's literature.
