«Nijntje kijkt in het rond» is the illustrated children's book by Dick Bruna, published by Mercis Publishing in paperback (10 pages, in Dutch).
The little rabbit Nijntje (Miffy) explores her surroundings and discovers recognisable objects for the youngest: a key, a chair, a cat and a train. It is a wordless picture book with black-line illustrations and flat colours, inviting readers to name and point at what appears on each page.
The cover subtitle, 'een bed-bad-box-boekje', defines it as a little book for use in bed, the bath or the playground. Originally published in 1997.
Designed for babies from six months and for first encounters with books through recognition of everyday objects.
Hendrik Magdalenus "Dick" Bruna, 23 August 1927 – 16 February 2017) was a Dutch author, artist, illustrator and graphic designer.
