«Niagarak» is the novel by Yves Navarre, published by Le Livre de Poche in 1983 in paperback (285 pages, in French).
The novel is a fictional rewriting of the author's Spanish experiences: the action takes place in Cuelga, a stand-in for Huelva, and the poet Sevy Erravan functions as Navarre's alter ego. The title is the code word Pilar and Thadeo use to say «amor».
The novel was originally published in 1973; this 1983 French edition belongs to the Le Livre de Poche collection (no. 5742).
Those who have read «Biographie» by Yves Navarre will recognise in this novel the reworking of his Spanish experiences.

Yves Navarre was a French writer. A gay man, most of his work concerned homosexuality and associated issues, such as AIDS. In his romantic works, Navarre was noted for his tendency to emphasize sensuality and "the mystical qualities of love" rather than sexuality or sensationalism. He was awarded the 1980 Prix Goncourt for his novel Le Jardin d'acclimatation.
