«Negrita con diamantes» is the short story collection by José Fernández de la Sota, published by Editorial Pre-Textos in paperback (56 pages, in Spanish).
The volume starts from the idea of accumulating diamonds like one who treasures emotions and turns the tremor —physical and moral— into the guiding thread of the stories. Lust, greed, gluttony, piety or fear appear in extreme situations, with a prose of poetic texture that ranges from sanctity to the executioner.
Published in 1998, it is volume 15 of the collection «Títulos en coedición y fuera de colección». Winner of the XI International Short Story Prize Max Aub (1997).
For readers of contemporary Spanish short fiction and for those who want to discover the work of José Fernández de la Sota.
