«Mujeres extraordinarias: una historia de mentiras» is Lucía Etxebarría's biographical essay, in paperback (560 pages, in Spanish).
The book dismantles lies and silences of official history about famous women: Mary Magdalene, Joanna the Mad, the witches of Zugarramurdi, Marie Curie, Frida Kahlo, Virginia Woolf or Marilyn Monroe. It reviews centuries of female repression and how many women circumvented it, from Hypatia to Madonna, in an accessible and informative tone.
First edition of October 2019. Illustrated work, originally written in Spanish.
Work for readers of feminist essays and biographies, interested in an accessible review of the role of women in history.
