«Milagros de Nuestra Señora» is Gonzalo de Berceo's collection of Marian miracles, published by Castalia Ediciones in paperback (240 pp., in Spanish).
Twenty-five pious tales framed by an allegorical introduction: in each, the Virgin Mary intercedes, protects or rewards her devotees. Written in the 13th century to move the faithful, they retain a notable simplicity and freshness. Daniel Devoto modernises the medieval Castilian while preserving its original tone.
Part of the Odres Nuevos collection (no. 7) from Castalia. The edition includes a prologue, glossary and notes.
For students of Spanish literature and readers wishing to approach medieval classics and Berceo's poetry.
George Gard "Buddy" DeSylva was an American songwriter, film producer and record executive. He wrote or co-wrote many popular songs, and, along with Johnny Mercer and Glenn Wallichs, he co-founded Capitol Records.
