«Mentiras fundamentales de la iglesia católica» is Pepe Rodríguez's essay on religious criticism (Punto de Lectura, paperback, 512 pages in Spanish).
Pepe Rodríguez analyses the Bible and argues that the sacred text has been manipulated over the centuries. He examines who wrote the passages, under what circumstances and how its message was distorted, and contrasts the Scriptures with historical data to question Catholic Church dogmas. Aimed at believers and non-believers.
The book was originally published in 1997; this Punto de Lectura paperback edition dates from 2000.
For readers interested in historical criticism of religion and in analysis of the Bible from a perspective removed from dogma.
