«Memoria y esperanza: relatos de una vida» is the memoir by Marcelino Oreja, in hardback, published by La Esfera de los Libros (658 pages).
Marcelino Oreja reviews his life, from a childhood marked by the death of his father in 1934 to his diplomatic and political career in the late Franco era and the Transition. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs, deputy and governor general of the Basque Country, and the book also includes anecdotes with Jimmy Carter, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and Felipe González.
The work, published in April 2011, includes an index and 64 pages of photographic plates in colour and black and white.
It will appeal to readers of political biographies and to those who want to learn about the recent history of Spain from the inside.
