«Matías retrata a Penélope» is the children's picture book by Rocío Martínez, published by Ediciones Ekaré in hardback (28 pages, in Spanish).
On a rainy day, Matías and his friends go to the library and browse art books. Penélope asks him to paint her portrait, but it doesn't seem easy. Inspired by the great portraitists, the friends suggest dressing her elegantly or placing her in a palace. Matías finds an original and personal solution to portray his friend.
Third edition in Spanish, published in 2001 by Ediciones Ekaré; recommended for readers aged 3 to 8.
Can be used at home or in the classroom to start a conversation about portraits and artistic creation.
