«Marina» is the gothic novel by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, published by Phoenix in paperback (304 pages, in English).
In May 1980, Óscar Drai, a fifteen-year-old boarder, disappears. The origin lies in his friendship with Marina and her father, the portraitist Herman Blau, and in the ritual she shows him: a veiled woman leaves a rose on an unnamed grave marked with a butterfly. The mystery leads them to postwar Barcelona, its sewers and corrupt police.
Presented on the cover as «A Gothic Tale for All Ages», it is suitable reading for young people and adults, also for followers of La sombra del viento.
