«Mare Nostrum» is the historical novel by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, published by Plaza & Janés Editores in paperback (in Spanish).
Ulises Ferragut has fulfilled his dream of captaining the Mare Nostrum, a ship that sails the Mediterranean. When the First World War breaks out, Ulises takes sides with the Allies and lives a voyage marked by submarines and by a sea laden with history.
The novel was originally published in 1918, and its pro-Allied stance made it a bestseller; this edition dates from 1980.
A novel for those seeking classic Spanish narrative with a historical and wartime backdrop in the Mediterranean.
Valencian novelist and politician, author of La Barraca, Reeds and Mud and The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, a major international bestseller of his day.
