«Lui è tornato» is the satirical novel by Timur Vermes, published by Bompiani in paperback (443 pages, in Italian).
In the summer of 2011, Adolf Hitler wakes up in a vacant lot in Berlin. He discovers that the war is over and that Angela Merkel is chancellor. Since no one recognises him, he is taken for a comedian and his television career becomes a phenomenon. The novel uses this absurd premise to offer a corrosive satire of a cynical world hungry for success.
The novel was originally published in German as «Er ist wieder da» in 2012. This Italian edition, translated by Francesca Gabelli, dates from 2013.
A novel ideal for readers of political satire and provocative humour who seek an uncomfortable look at current affairs.

Timur Vermes is a German writer. Previously a ghostwriter, his first novel Er ist wieder da, which has sold over a million copies in Germany, is a satire about Adolf Hitler and 21st-century Germany.
